Long before the Cleveland Cavaliers drafted LeBron James, Brian Windhorst was already keeping tabs on him.
Windhorst contributed to enlarging his legend when he covered him at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School and then followed James in his first steps in the league.
However, it seems like James isn’t that fond of him.
In his latest appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show,” James took a huge shot at Windhorst (via NBA Central):
“This guy who says he’s my f***** best friend. These guys are just weird,” James said.
"This guy who says he's my f-cking best friend. These guys are just weird."

Windhorst is one of the most accurate sources of rumors and information around the league, and he’s done nothing but uplift James throughout the course of his career.
Granted, he also owes James a lot because he built his career off of covering him, but it’s not like he didn’t put in the hours and hard work to do so.
James also took a big shot at his former Cavs teammates by stating that he ‘maximized’ those rosters the front office gave him during his time there.
He’s also engaged in a beef with ESPN personality Stephen A. Smith.
This isn’t unlike James, and he may have waited until his final days in the league to show what he truly felt about the people who helped build his legend and protected him for years.
