The NBA is all over big-market teams.
Teams like the Cleveland Cavaliers, on the other hand, are often overlooked.
That’s why Stephen A. Smith wants to stop being part of the problem and become part of the solution.
Talking on ESPN’s “First Take,” the controversial pundit urged people to start paying attention and showing love for the Cavs.
“Let’s talk about Cleveland. Everyone be forgetting about those dudes in the East,” Smith said.
Stephen A. Smith deserves appreciation for advocating for the Cavs all season long:

Worldwide media doesn’t seem to care about teams like the Cavs.
There is no drama, agendas, or hidden storylines there.
They’re all about playing the game the right way.
Unfortunately, since LeBron James left, people seemingly forgot about the franchise.
The Cavs have been the best team in the NBA this season by a significant margin, with just a handful of teams that could legitimately be a threat to them in a seven-game series.
They’re much better than the Los Angeles Lakers, and they’ve proven that they can hold their own vs. the Boston Celtics.
They might not have Kevin Durant or Stephen Curry, but they’ve fared much better than both the Phoenix Suns and Golden State Warriors.
Perhaps the league would rather have the Celtics back in the NBA Finals.
But given the way this team has played, NBA journalists might want to book their hotel rooms in Cleveland instead.
They still need to prove that they’re built for this, which will be tough after so many years of shortcomings.
But regardless of the market, those who like basketball have to acknowledge that this team is ready to take a big leap.
