The Cleveland Cavaliers will have months to focus on the playoffs.
They’ve already punched their postseason ticket, and it will now all be about staying healthy, getting in shape, and holding onto the No. 1 spot.
That’s why team insider Danny Cunningham believes only a disaster can stop them from making the Eastern Conference Finals.
Talking to Jake Vulinec on 92.3 The Fan, Cunningham argued that not making the Conference Finals would be considered a failure for this team, considering how strongly they’ve played this season:
“If they don’t make the conference finals, something went terribly, terribly wrong. The Cavs and the Celtics and then there is a canyon-sized between the rest of the East right now,” he said.

The Cavaliers haven’t had any sort of issues getting past any team in the league this season.
They’ve even split the season series vs. the defending NBA champions.
Granted, they’re not as talented as, say, the Boston Celtics, but they’re deep and well-coached.
This team has the makings of a championship team, and, other than Boston, it’s hard to believe any other team might pose a threat to them in a seven-game playoff series, at least in the East.
They will have weeks to watch tape and get ready for Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, and there will be no excuses not to get the job done this time.
This team has to prove itself when it matters the most, and only then will people take them seriously.
But if they stay healthy and continue to do what has worked out so well for them thus far, there’s no reason to believe this team can’t win at least eight games in the playoffs.
