The Cleveland Cavaliers are officially on their way to the playoffs.
That was never in doubt, but they’re now the first team to clinch a postseason spot.
They did so by beating the Miami Heat in a game that felt closer than it should’ve been.
The Cavs led by as many as 17 points before Erik Spoelstra’s team made it a close game again.
Eventually, they held on and secured their 52nd win of the season.
Got the W!

With this win, the Cavs can officially finish no worse than No. 6 in the Eastern Conference.
That means they’re no longer a potential Play-In Tournament team, and they will have at least one postseason series.
Of course, that’s not what they’re striving for, and this is just the beginning.
The Cavs have an opportunity to secure homecourt advantage throughout the course of the entire postseason.
And while they’ve been elite on the road as well this season, you have to make the most of that opportunity whenever you have a chance.
Kenny Atkinson’s team came out firing after the All-Star break, and they’ve shown no signs of slowing down after their scorching-hot start to the season.
More importantly, they’ve gotten healthy, and they have a deep rotation full of hard-working players.
Even when one of the core four players isn’t available, the rest of the team picks up the slack and gets the job done.
