The Cleveland Cavaliers have been the best team in the league during the 2024-25 NBA season and a lot of that has to do with the chemistry and cohesion they have on both ends of the floor.
Although head coach Kenny Atkinson is in his first year, he’s done an outstanding job of maximizing his roster’s strengths and putting players in position to succeed.
While most of the success can be attributed to the core of Donovan Mitchell, Darius Garland, Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen, the Cavaliers have enjoyed contributions from their role players and bench.
Ty Jerome has become the unsung hero of Cleveland’s success this season as he’s given the team extra scoring and defense despite his smaller frame and size.
Jerome is the ideal role player as he can make an impact without dominating touches, a key factor for any team looking to make a deep postseason run.
One Cavs insider revealed what’s been the most impressive thing about Jerome this season.
“Ty Jerome says that it’s because he’s never got the opportunity to be the Ty Jerome that he’s showing Cleveland to be,” Rafa Hernandez-Brito said, via Full Court Cleveland.

Underdog players like Jerome normally come with a chip on their shoulder due to being overlooked, but Cleveland certainly knows what it’s getting out of him.
Jerome won’t be a household name by any stretch, but his skill set, attitude and winning mentality are traits that should keep him in the rotation come playoff time.
