The Cleveland Cavaliers put away the Boston Celtics on Friday night, bringing their season track record to 49-10.
They continue to hold the best record in the East and the entire NBA and now have made league history.
According to Evan Dammarell, the Cavaliers are one of only 16 teams in NBA history to start a season with a 49-10 record or better through 59 games.
They are playing fantastic basketball and there is every reason to believe that will continue through the rest of the year.

The regular season is rounding a corner and the end is now in sight.
That means the Cavaliers need to just keep playing great basketball if they wish to make a mark in the playoffs.
They don’t want this strong record to end when the regular season concludes and the Cavs have made no secret of their desire to go all the way to the Finals.
They have a number of tough games in the weeks ahead.
With the Celtics out of the way, the Cavaliers will take on the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday.
Over the next few weeks, they will face competitors like the Milwaukee Bucks, Memphis Grizzlies, New York Knicks, Indiana Pacers, and more.
It’s not clear what their final record will be but the Cavaliers have a very good shot of being the top seed in the East when the postseason starts.
In the end, the only thing that really matters to this team is a title.
They are happy with how well they have been playing and they are proud of their 49-10 record, but their singular hope is that they walk away as champions in a few months.
