The Cleveland Cavaliers needed someone to step up.
Darius Garland missed the game vs. the Memphis Grizzlies with a hip contusion, but the team still delivered.
It wasn’t easy, and it wasn’t always pretty, but the team eventually managed to push through and get a narrow 129-123 win.
Hard fought W.

The Cavs are now 47-10 on the season.
Teams that win 50 games before they lose 20 are usually considered strong championship contenders, and this team is well on pace to do so before losing 15.
They might not even lose 15 all year long.
Of course, there are still plenty of games ahead in the final stretch of the regular season, so getting too carried away might not be the wisest decision here.
If anything, the team must make sure to get Garland back to full strength, even if that means having him sit out several games.
Donovan Mitchell did a solid job of carrying the load without his backcourt mate, scoring 33 points and handing out six assists in the win.
Evan Mobley also made a statement against a fellow young two-way star like Jaren Jackson Jr., dominating with 25 points, 13 rebounds, and eight assists.
Kenny Atkinson’s team will have two big challenges up next.
They will meet the Orlando Magic before their fourth matchup of the season with the defending NBA champions, the Boston Celtics.
Whether Garland will be able to suit up for either of those games remains to be seen.
