The Cleveland Cavaliers have a true leader in Jarrett Allen.
He might not be vocal or put up huge numbers, but he’s someone who puts his head down and gets to work every single day.
Despite being the team’s defensive anchor and glass-cleaner, he doesn’t get much recognition or praise for his work, but he does all the little things that contribute to a win.
That’s why it’s not much of a surprise to see him relate to Steven Adams.
In his recent appearance on “The Old Man & The Three,” the Cavaliers star big man admitted that he actually respected Adams a lot.
He talked about how Adams is a true workhorse who often goes overlooked but plays and works very hard to help his team win.
That’s the kind of role player any team needs.
Of course, it’s been a while since Adams played heavy minutes or was relevant in the league, but he’s still a respected and valuable veteran in the NBA.
Allen is a much more polished offensive player and a better rebounder, but there was a time when Adams was one of the most feared screen-setters in the game.
There was a big case to be made for Jarrett Allen to be an All-Star this season, and even if his numbers weren’t as eye-popping, it still feels like he was somewhat snubbed.
Then again, just like Adams, Allen isn’t here for the show or the recognition.
He’s going to do what he’s told and what his team needs.
