For years, experts and fans alike agreed that Evan Mobley was the Cleveland Cavaliers’ X-factor.
That has been all the more evident this season.
He’s playing the best basketball of his career, and as such, the Cavs are thriving.
Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case in arguably his worst game of the campaign on Tuesday.
Mobley struggled against Al Horford and Kristaps Porzingis, and the Cavs couldn’t build any momentum against the Boston Celtics.
Following the loss, multiple fans took to social media to talk about Mobley’s major struggles on Tuesday night.
I also really hope #Cavs Evan Mobley takes tonight on the chin and learns from it and realizes he still has sooooo much growing to do.
He was awful today in a huge game.

Every player can have an off night occasionally, and Mobley is still clearly a work in progress.
It’s unfair to criticize him after just one bad game, even if he picked the absolute worst opponent to struggle against.
Hopefully, this will be a growing and learning experience for him.
He should watch the tape and realize where he got constantly beaten on both ends of the floor.
Mobley has played like a man on a mission this season, and nothing gets the best out of a player like a big chip on his shoulder.
The Celtics are 2-1 against the Cavaliers this season, and they have another meeting left a couple of weeks from now.
They will certainly try to expose Mobley again in that matchup, and it will be up to him to show them that he’s not an Achilles heel and to make a statement.
