One of the best things about the Cleveland Cavaliers this season is the team’s defense.
Not only are they shooting wonderfully, but they are also shutting down most of their opponents.
Jarrett Allen is a major part of the team’s defense.
According to Tommy Beer, Allen is one of the best lockdown defenders in the league.
Isaiah Stewart of the Detroit Pistons is doing the best as opposing players have only made 47 percent of the shots contested by Stewart.
And while that might be the best stat among all big men, Allen is also doing great work.
Players have only made 49.6 percent of their shots against Allen, behind just Stewart, Daniel Gafford (47.1 percent), and Victor Wembanyama (48.7 percent).
Rudy Gobert is behind Allen with 52.6 percent.
Per NBA tracking data opposing players have only made 47% of their shots contested by Isaiah Stewart- best mark in the NBA (min. 150 FGs contested)

When players attempt to score on Allen, they are only getting into the basket half the time.
That’s a testament to how well he is reading his opponents and his natural defensive talent.
Allen puts all of his massive frame in the way of his competitors and doesn’t make life easy on them.
On top of this defensive statistic, Allen is also averaging 14.0 points and 10.0 rebounds per game.
He is also scoring 1.0 steals per game.
Allen and Evan Mobley are working expertly together and have created one of the most intimidating and strong frontcourts in the league.
In the past, there have been questions and concerns about them performing as a unit, but those worries are gone now and the Cavaliers are one of the greatest two-way teams in the NBA.
Allen is shutting down just about anyone who challenges him and has become a defensive powerhouse that all players fear.
