The Cleveland Cavaliers are having their best season in franchise history.
Not even LeBron James was able to do what this team has done so far.
Nevertheless, they will continue to be held to James’ standard, as he did lead them to multiple trips to the NBA Finals and one championship.
When asked about that, James seemingly took credit for the winning culture in Cleveland.
Even so, he also praised the team for what they’ve been able to do this season (via New Heights & Legion Hoops):
“The Cavs look amazing right now… I hope they keep it going, they got an opportunity to do something special. I’m glad I was able to put on first and set the trend and hopefully we keep it going,” he said.

James did win the only championship in franchise history.
However, he’s by no means responsible for anything that has been going on this season.
Kenny Atkinson has turned this team around.
The front office has also done a solid job of identifying and developing talent.
For years, fans have speculated about another potential homecoming.
They dreamed of watching LeBron retire with his hometown team.
Barring a major turn of events, that doesn’t seem to be on the table.
James recently claimed that he could play for another five or seven years if he chose to, but he also admitted that he won’t play until the wheels fall off.
As such, the Cavs front office found peace in moving on from him and building a team around other players.
Clearly, it worked out for the best, as the Cavs have played like a legitimate championship contender for the first time in almost a decade.
Hopefully, they will be able to hang another banner.
