The Cleveland Cavaliers needed to bounce back after a tough loss, and bounce back they did.
Notably, the loss and the bounce-back win had plenty to do with Donovan Mitchell.
The former Utah Jazz combo guard wasn’t at his best in their previous encounter, scoring 19 points on 17 shots.
He took things to a whole new level on the road.
As shown by CavsMuse on X, Mitchell finished the win over the Indiana Pacers with 35 points, nine rebounds, three assists, and two steals on 12 of 23 from the floor and a perfect 8-of-8 from the free-throw line.

Fortunately, the Cavaliers haven’t needed Mitchell to do all the heavy lifting this season.
Kenny Atkinson has them sharing the ball and the scoring load.
Then again, he’s the best player on the team, and as such, it only makes sense that he takes matters into his own hands now and then, especially when the team needs a timely bucket.
The Cavaliers are now 34-5 for the season.
Not many people thought they would have the best record in the league, almost at the midpoint of the season.
They’re on pace to win at least 70 games this season and could even tie the 2015-16 Golden State Warriors record.
Should that be the case, Mitchell should most definitely draw some serious MVP considerations.
He is the best player on the top team in the league.
Although his averages may not be as impressive as those of other players, the Cavaliers’ success hinges on his performance.
