When the 2024-25 NBA season began, people expected a lot from the Cleveland Cavaliers, but they didn’t think they’d be the best team in the league.
Now, a few months later, other squads are stepping up their game to take on the Cavaliers.
On “Full Court Cleveland,” Rafa Hernandez-Brito talked about how the mentality of the team has changed this season.
He said:
“We went from being the surprise team to the other way around – people get up to play the Cavs.”

At the start of the season, other teams thought the Cavaliers would be a scrappy, determined team that might catch others off guard with surprise wins.
Now they are dominant and seemingly unstoppable at times.
This has been an adjustment for other squads but the Cavaliers have easily taken on the role of the NBA’s best team.
They have remained confident of what they can achieve for a few years now.
The players have repeatedly said they knew they had what it takes to get to this point.
And they have easily accepted their spot in the league and look more confident than ever before.
With a 33-5 record, they have every reason to be confident.
However, just because they are the hunters and no longer the hunted doesn’t mean they can go easy on themselves.
Instead, they need to hold onto this confidence as the season goes on and the playoffs approach.
Other teams might be afraid of them, but they are eager to try and defeat them.
The Cavaliers have a good mindset right now and that will help them as the postseason approaches.
