During the first half of the season, the Cleveland Cavaliers have been the best team in the NBA, and it hasn’t been particularly close.
However, we’re approaching the All-Star Game, so there’s a chance that exhaustion will become a big factor for them, just like for every other team.
Talking about that, Kenny Atkinson tipped his hat to his performance staff (via Spencer Davies).
“They don’t get the credit they deserve. They deserve way more. I think they’re undervalued.”
Kenny Atkinson speaks to how critical the #Cavs performance team is to the day-to-day, short-term & long-term planning.

He raved about his support system and assistant coaches, talking about how crucial they will be to manage the roster and the players’ minutes and workload.
Of course, you always want to enter the second half of the season with some momentum.
That doesn’t mean you’ll leave it all on the court in the regular season and then limp your way into the playoffs.
That formula has never worked for Tom Thibodeau, and it’s hard to remember any team that won the NBA championship despite being banged up and worn down.
Fortunately, the Cavaliers have a deep team.
Atkinson’s rotation is full of steady contributors and glue guys, some of whom excelled when asked to make spot starts due to injuries or other reasons.
This stretch of the season is often one of the hardest, and many teams tend to hit a wall and lose games they weren’t supposed to lose.
The Cavs are still on pace to win 70+ games this season.
However, they will have to choose whether to pursue a record or something more important.
