The Cleveland Cavaliers have a clear pecking order on offense.
Donovan Mitchell, Darius Garland, and Evan Mobley usually get most of the touches, and there isn’t anything wrong with that.
Jarrett Allen, however, might be the team’s unsung hero.
At least, that’s how Tony Pesta feels, as he recently said so while sharing a clip of one of Allen’s emphatic dunks in the win vs. the Dallas Mavericks.
Jarrett Allen will never get as much of the spotlight as his star teammates — but man, is he impactful

Allen’s game isn’t flashy, and he doesn’t do a lot of talking.
Nevertheless, he’s a true star in his role and position.
He can guard the rim like the best of them.
His ability to adjust and recover has made him an elite rim protector.
He also has great timing when going up for blocks.
His athleticism, hops, and never-ending energy have also helped him become an outstanding rebounder on both sides of the glass.
So far, Allen has posted averages of 13.6 points, 10.1 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.0 steals, and 0.9 blocks on a career-high 68.8% from the floor.
Those numbers might not pop out as All-Star-caliber, but make no mistake: Jarrett Allen is, by all means, an All-Star.
He’s the defensive anchor for the best team in the NBA this season, and his bursts of energy when he makes a putback dunk or comes sprinting down the court for an alley-oop finish have also been a catalyst for the Cavaliers.
They say the big man is a dying breed in today’s game, but players like Allen continue to prove them wrong night in and night out.
