At one point in the offseason, Cleveland Cavaliers fans weren’t sure what the team was going to look like during the 2024-2025 season.
After all, there were rumors that either Donovan Mitchell or Darius Garland would walk, potentially interested in a trade given their contract concerns.
However, both players decided to stick around, giving fans confidence that the team’s one-two punch was sticking together.
These two athletes have helped make the Cavaliers among the best teams in the NBA, but it has been a true team effort.
Evan Mobley has continued to make a name for himself in this league, dominating in several facets and turning into one of the team’s top assets.
He was recently awarded with the Kia Defensive Player of the Month for December, as the NBA’s official X account highlighted.

Mobley has been a force to be reckoned with all season, and he’s finally getting the league-wide recognition that Cavaliers fans believe he’s deserved from the get-go.
This team needed their big man to step up and take a leap in production this year, and that’s exactly what he’s accomplished.
Having Mobley in the paint, both on offense and defense, could serve major dividends for them down the stretch.
They’ll need him to keep up the good work in the postseason, especially against players like Karl Anthony-Towns and Bam Adebayo, assuming the New York Knicks and Miami Heat make the playoffs.
Mobley and the Cavaliers have plenty of time to get playoff-ready, but his early returns have been positive nonetheless.
