The Cleveland Cavaliers have won 16 of their first 17 games of the season, and their only loss came against the defending NBA champions on the road and by a single possession.
There are enough reasons to feel encouraged about that strong start to the season.
When asked about the secret sauce behind this team’s success, Jarrett Allen had a rather comical response:
“Bolognese,” he said.
Then, on a more serious note, the star big man added that everybody’s just feeding off each other instead of trying to outshine their teammates.

They’re all chipping in, and he believes the positive vibes in the locker room have contributed to their success.
Of course, expecting this team to lose just one in every seventeen games is unrealistic.
But as unsustainable as this win pace might be, there’s no reason to believe they can’t keep this strong play going and even hold onto the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference for much longer.
Even when Darius Garland or Donovan Mitchell have been out, someone else has stepped up.
Rookie Jaylon Tyson had a great game at the start of his first career, and it’s just a matter of time before they get Max Strus back.
Even Isaac Okoro, who often struggled with his offense, is knocking down shots on Kenny Atkinson’s offense.
There’s still plenty of basketball to be played this season, but if the bolognese is working, the recipe better not be changed.
