The Cleveland Cavaliers found a prime reinforcement in-house.
Ty Jerome barely played in his first year with the organization, as an injury forced him to miss most of the campaign.
Now, he’s coming out of left field to serve as one of the best players on the team.
As Mikey McNuggets pointed out on the Ultimate Cavaliers show, Jerome is actually shooting the ball more efficiently than Anthony Davis and LeBron James, and he’s been a more efficient three-point shooter than Stephen Curry.
He’s currently shooting 60.8% from the floor, 54.2% from beyond the arc, and 82.6% from the free-throw line.
Ty Jerome currently has a higher FG% than Anthony Davis & LeBron and is shooting 11% better from 3 than Steph Curry.
Can it continue all season? Probably not, but right now… he's the #Cavs secret weapon. pic.twitter.com/YTCAyiwRya

Granted, he doesn’t take as many shots as the players he mentioned, and those numbers are likely to regress at some point in the season, but this is still more than impressive.
Jerome is taking great care of the basketball.
Even with Darius Garland and Donovan Mitchell on the floor, he’s sometimes been their primary shot-creator, with the other guards roaming around the perimeter and playing off the ball.
In addition, he’s been a pleasant surprise on the defensive end, taking pride in getting stops.
The Cavaliers have one of the most talented starting lineups in the entire league, but all teams need role players to thrive.
Jerome might not be the most popular reserve in the game, and his solid numbers might not pop out as much.
Even so, with the Cavaliers being 12-0 and his efficiency from the court, he should be a solid candidate for Sixth Man of the Year.
