Carr spent ten years in the NBA back in the 1970s and early 1980s.
Most of that time was spent with the Cleveland Cavaliers, where he averaged 16.2 points, 3 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game.
He earned his 1,820 assists during his nine seasons with the Cavaliers, but Garland has done that in just four seasons.
This is a reason why Garland is considered one of the most exciting guards in the league.
Not only can the young player score, but he can also find his teammates on the court and easily get the ball into their hands right before they score.
So far this season, Garland is putting up 18.8 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 5.6 assists on 46.8% from the floor.
He has, of course, missed multiple weeks because of a very serious jaw injury but he is now back and making up for lost time.
Garland has come back to the Cavaliers in the midst of a very impressive chapter for the team and they are now the second-best squad in the Eastern Conference.
Garland is still shaking off a bit of rust after being away for so long but he is clearly starting to look like his regular self again.
