The catch-and-shoot bucket is a vital tool that some NBA players have, although it’s incredibly hard to master.
Of course, some stars are better than others.

Lauri Markkanen of the Utah Jazz scores the most: 9.2 points per game on a 59.9% effective field goal percentage.
Others, like Klay Thompson and Malcolm Brogdon, do well with the catch-and-shoot, but a Cleveland Cavaliers star is also succeeding well.
Max Strus is scoring 7.4 points per game on the catch-and-shoot, landing 53.8% of these unique shots.

During his first season with the Cavaliers, Strus has averaged 12.9 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 3.8 assists on 40% from the field.
After getting signed to the team last offseason, Strus immediately became an important part of the lineup.
For the last few seasons, fans of the team have been waiting for a reliable fifth starter and Strus has fit that role well.
The Cavaliers have been on a roll lately, scoring seven wins in a row, and Strus has been a huge part of that.
He has averaged 8.9 points, 4 rebounds, and 3.4 assists during that time, shooting a field goal percentage of 44.4%.
His catch-and-shoot abilities are vital because it’s the sort of point-making that is really hard to defend.
It keeps the tempo high and it also puts the defense on its heels.
This list of catch-and-shoot pros features some of the best players in the league, including Stephen Curry and Paul George.
That means that Strus is in good company with his ability to master this hugely impactful NBA skill.
