The Cleveland Cavaliers suffered a couple of devastating blows on Friday when they learned they’d be without both Evan Mobley and Darius Garland for the foreseeable future due to injuries.
Speaking to Serena Winters, Donovan Mitchell opened up about how much he feels for Garland and what he’s going through.
Calling the entire situation “tough” Garland said, “I feel for him man, especially, I’ve only been here two years, but I know it’s one of those things that’s really out of his control. At the end of the day, we got to do it as a group.”
Could definitely tell how badly Donovan Mitchell felt for #Cavs Darius Garland (fractured jaw – reevaluated in approx. 4 weeks). Here's what he shared this morning: pic.twitter.com/63Zksyys3Y

“Tough” doesn’t even begin to describe how bad Garland’s absence will be for the Cavaliers.
Along with Mitchell, he holds down the team’s backcourt and is a crucial part of nearly every offensive play.
He is averaging 20.7 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 5.9 assists per game so far this season.
When he ran into Kristaps Porzingis the other night, fans were worried that he could be out for a couple of games.
But when they learned that he had fractured his jaw and would be absent for approximately four weeks, those fans became very concerned about what’s next for the team.
They were already struggling to make a dent in the Eastern Conference and the loss of Garland would only make that harder.
And the additional absence of Mobley means that the team will be facing very difficult days ahead.
Mitchell says that the Cavaliers will need to take on these challenges as a team.
They have to remain united and committed and know that this tough stretch will pass.
But for fans of the Cavaliers, it can’t pass soon enough.
