The new NBA season is nearly upon us, and the Cleveland Cavaliers have made some small but important changes to the lineup.
However, if a new rumor is believed, they could swing for the fences next summer.
According to DallasHoopsJournal.com, via Legion Hoops, the Cavs are “expected to pursue LeBron James if he hits free agency next summer.”
And they wouldn’t be the only ones.

The report also says that the Golden State Warriors and Dallas Mavericks would try to get James as well.
And there would surely be other teams in the mix if James really does not sign a new deal with the Los Angeles Lakers and tests his luck in free agency.
Obviously, the Cavaliers would be near the top of the list given their history with James.
The idea of him returning home for his last run in the NBA could be too enticing to pass up, and the Cavs would love to see him in their jersey right before retirement.
But just because the concept of James in uniform one last time is appealing doesn’t mean it’ll happen.
The Cavaliers would have to put together a hefty contract for James, which would cost them.
Would they be willing to give up a lot of money for someone who won’t play much longer, no matter how historic and iconic he is?
This speculation may all be pointless, because James could elect to stay in Los Angeles and retire as a Laker.
He has publicly said he wants to do that, so there is a chance he sticks to his plan.
But if he doesn’t, the Cavaliers would definitely be intrigued and eager to bring him home.
