The Cleveland Cavaliers are heading in the right direction, and as such, it only makes sense that they look to keep the band together.
That’s why they rewarded the president of basketball operations, Koby Altman, with a long-term contract extension.
They did the same with Mike Gansey and Brandon Weems, two integral members of Altman’s circle of trust and the team’s general manager and assistant general manager, respectively.
With that in mind, franchise legend LeBron James took to social media to shout out Weems:
“YESSIR!!! Congratulations to my brother B.Weems!! Super proud of u man,” James posted on X.

Of course, it didn’t take long before some fans started connecting the dots and speculating about a potential return to Cleveland.
Then again, it’s worth noting that Weems and James have been close friends for decades now, as they were actually teammates in high school, so people shouldn’t read too much into this message.
The Cavaliers hired Weems during James’ second stint with the organization, and he climbed his way up the ladder to his current position back in 2022.
The Cavs have been one of the most consistent teams in the league during Altman’s tenure in charge, and now that they’re coming off logging the second-most wins in a season in franchise history, it only made sense that they gave the current brass a vote of confidence.
The team made a big offseason move by adding Lonzo Ball, and while there are still some doubts about his character and ability to thrive in high-stakes situations, the Cavs should continue to be a driving force in the East next season.
