Lonzo Ball is coming to the Cleveland Cavaliers, and he is hoping to provide a lot for the team.
Now, Ball has made his move to Cleveland more official by selecting the No. 2 jersey.
As noted by Etienne Catalan, this number was last worn by Ty Jerome, so it’s a somewhat bittersweet moment for Cavs fans.

Ball has worn 2 throughout his career while playing for the Los Angeles Lakers, New Orleans Pelicans, and Chicago Bulls.
Therefore, it’s not surprising to see him suit up with it again in Cleveland.
Jerome was with the team until very recently, when he made a new deal with the Memphis Grizzlies.
He had a big impact on the team’s fanbase, and they wanted to see him return, but it wasn’t meant to be.
They will miss Jerome, but are hopeful that Ball can play like the exciting point guard he once was.
Sadly, Ball has dealt with some of the worst injury issues in recent NBA history.
He only played in 35 games last season after missing two seasons before that.
There is hope that he can continually get better, healthier, and start to perform more.
As of now, it’s not entirely clear how big a workload the Cavaliers will give him.
They don’t want to push him too hard and risk injuring him again, but they definitely need his ball-handling skills.
Last season, he posted 7.6 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 3.3 assists on 36.6 percent from the field and 34.4 percent from the three-point line.
What can he produce in 2025-26, and can he remain consistent and healthy?
