The Cleveland Cavaliers need another point guard.
Craig Porter Jr. didn’t get many opportunities this season, and while that could change now that he has another year of NBA experience, there are no guarantees with young players.
With that in mind, and given their financial constraints, the Cavs might have to dig deep into the free agent pool to find their next backup point guard.
According to Bovada Sportsbook, they might be keeping a close eye on Ben Simmons.
As shown by NBA Central on X, if Simmons continues his NBA career, the Cavs have the second-best odds to sign him, trailing only the Los Angeles Clippers, his current team.
Odds on Ben Simmons’ next chapter:
Los Angeles Clippers (+375)
Cleveland Cavaliers (+475)
Sports media / broadcasting (+550)
esports / gaming content creation (+650)
Houston Rockets (+700)
Create a fashion or lifestyle brand (+700)
NBL (+800)
Philadelphia 76ers (+1400)

The Clippers signed Simmons midway through the season after his buyout agreement with the Brooklyn Nets.
Unfortunately, yet unsurprisingly, he wasn’t much of a factor, as he continued to deal with injuries.
That’s why the odds include the chance he might not play at all, with a career in sports media and broadcasting or content creation listed as potential options.
On paper, Simmons would be a huge addition for Cleveland.
He’s still an outstanding defensive player who can be a factor on the glass, and can be one of the best playmakers in the league.
In reality, he doesn’t even look at the rim as a scorer, and he’s rarely able to play because of injuries.
On top of that, it’s hard to believe he’ll decide to live in Cleveland, given a career spent solely in big markets.
