The Cleveland Cavaliers need to make some moves.
This group of players has fallen short in the playoffs over and over, and some of the stars have left plenty to be desired when it matters most.
That has usually been the case with Darius Garland, whose character and availability have raised questions in the past.
Recently, Cavs analyst Chris Fedor proposed a scenario in which the team would swap Garland with Jalen Suggs.
Nevertheless, Ken Carman of 92.3 The Fan isn’t so sure about that.
Talking to Anthony Lima, he stated that trading a two-time All-Star for the Orlando Magic guard was a risky move:
“It’s bold to go from a two-time All-Star to these other names like Jalen Suggs. Jalen Suggs, because of the injuries, has, I don’t want to call him a disappointment, I don’t think he’s been a disappointment, but he hasn’t been up to the standards to what people thought he was going to be. If you were to go after one of these names with a two-time All-Star, well, you’re betting a lot on fit there. That’s rough,” Carman said.

That’s fair, but it’s all about fit.
Suggs is just the kind of player the Cavs need.
He’s a pesky defender and a physical bully who’s not going to back down from any challenge.
He rises to the occasion and plays better when the stakes are high.
More than that, he’s a pass-first guy who can knock down shots from beyond the arc, something like a lite version of Lonzo Ball.
Garland is also a perfect fit for the Magic.
They already have plenty of enforcers and tough defenders, but they need a floor-spacer.
Moreover, they wouldn’t need him to be a go-to guy, a role in which he has failed to thrive, as they already have Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner.
Granted, Suggs has also dealt with injuries, but it’s not like the Cavs have been able to rely on Garland in the playoffs.
