Everyone agrees that this season ended in disappointment for the Cleveland Cavaliers.
However, the team believes they have what it takes to come back even stronger next year.
Speaking with Right Down Euclid, Darius Garland shared his belief in the team and what they are capable of.
“Just write us off again,” said Darius Garland. “Nothing has changed. A lot of people doubt us. And it is based on the playoffs. It is based on the postseason. They do whatever they want. We go to work. We get better. And we’ll come back stronger next year.”
On one hand, it’s easy to see how Garland might be wrong.
The Cavaliers were the best team in the East this season and they were still dispatched with relative ease by the Indiana Pacers in the second round.
Why would fans think that anything different will happen next year, unless there are changes to the lineup over the summer?
On the other hand, the Cavaliers definitely did get better between 2023-24 and 2024-25.
There were high expectations for them this season, and they surpassed all of them, at least in the regular season.
Garland has every reason to believe the team will keep figuring out how to improve and will bounce back in 2025-26.
A lot of people rightfully judge a team based on how well it does during the playoffs.
And the truth is that the Cavsliers fell short of their goals.
But Garland is warning all of the critics: the Cavaliers aren’t done enhancing and evolving, and they will be a force to be reckoned with next year.
